More Public High School Institutions in Siaton Municipal
The fact that more and more students are pursuing their high school years in Siaton National High School, the institution is finding it harder to accommodate all of them. In order for this issue to be resolved, the Department of Education (DepEd), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Siaton implements a new educational system. This system is only applicable to high school students who wish to pursue their secondary education in a public institution.
Public High School Being “Localized”
Being “localized” here means that wherever a student finishes his/her elementary education, it should be in the same place where he/she shall proceed with his/her high school years. That is if and only if the student prefers to enroll in a PUBLIC institution. Exceptions to those who wished to pursue with their secondary education in a private school, like Carmel High School.
This simply means that if you are not from Poblacion, Siaton (town proper), you can no longer enroll into Siaton National High School. Likewise, a student who graduated at Inalad Elementary School shall continue with his/her high school education at the same location which is the new Inalad-Sumaliring High School. What’s in it for the students? Of course aside from cutting off transportation expenses, the good thing in this new system is the fact that students are all well-accommodated by teachers. The ratio of students versus teachers will be better than before. It will just be enough and even for sure.
The Role of the Local Government Unit (LGU)
Of course, this newly-implemented public secondary education system will not be possible without the help of the Local Government Unit. This is one of the DepEd projects that really needs help from LGU. Why? It is because the LGU is in charge of school building constructions. To accommodate all the students, there should be enough classrooms to use. Not only that, these classrooms should be conducive for learning too! This for sure, needs bigger budget to cover all the construction expenses.
So, right now, they are continually working on the additional building structures and constructing new buildings for each local public high school. Rest assured, if this project is well-budgeted, in the year 2010, everything would be completed. This would be another manifestation of the town’s slogan that says: “Uswag Siaton!”
