MANILA, Philippines -Two teams are up for a duel featured on Day 3 of the 2012 PBA Commissioner’s Cup eliminations, Wednesday, February 15th, in a clash for an early leadership at the Cuneta Astrodome, in Pasay City.
Aside from Barangay Ginebra, the B-MEG and Barako Bull team are now on top with a record of 1-0 and that they are eyeing for a 2nd win later today at 5:15PM opener. Meanwhile, Petron Blaze and Meralco Bolts will try to establish their first victory at the 7:30PM nightcap.
Llamados halted the B-Boys’ rally from a 15-point deficit in the first quarter towards the 96-93 decision in the opening of the 37th midseason conference of pro league last Friday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, 96-93 and the Energy dominated Alaska Milk that showed a 26-point lead in the final period towards a 98-78 victory.
“It was a struggle out there especially when the other team disrupts you. Guys dont panic they recover quickly, we got it under control,” said B-MEG coach Tim Cone. “Denzel (Bowles) got to get some time to adjust.”
Bowles delivered overall 27 points and 11 rebounds from a 36-minute job while DerMarr Johnson has 19 and 8 for Barako. Johnson even outscored by Willy Miller who has gotten 25 markers on that game.
“We had two tuneups Alaska and Ginebra we won both. As long as were winning we’ll be contented with him (Johnson),” Energy mentor Junel Baculi said and added that, “Our next opponent is B-MEG they have a tough import, we’ll scout them.”
Boosters, on the other hand, lost to Barangay Ginebra via 84-82 last Sunday. It was a heartbreaking defeat for Petron.
