The Philippine National Police has already issued an order for immediate dismissal of 11 police officers, including two generals, who were allegedly involved in the chopper scam. Starting yesterday, the following police officers were ordered not to report to their respective departments anymore;

1. Chief Supt. Luis Saligumba

2. Chief Supt. Herold Ubalde

3. Sr. Supt. Job Nolan Antonio

4. Sr. Supt. Mansue Lukban

5. Sr. Supt. Edgar Paatan

6. Supt. Loreto Roman

7. Supt. Villafuerte Ermilando

8. Chief Insp. Ma. Josefina Recometa

9. SPO4 Ma. Linda Padojinog

10. SPO1 Avensuel Dy

11. Non-uniformed personnel Reuben Gongona

6 others were suspended for 6 months, namely:

1. Sr. Supt. Crisostomo Joel Garcia

2. SPO3 Jorge Gabiana

3. PO3 Dionisio Jimenez

4. Emilia Aliling

5. Edwin Chavarria

6. Edwin Maranan

Meanwhile, three retired officers will also be penalized. An equivalent to one year salary deduction will be taken away from their accumulative leave credits while they have been delisted to receive any retirement benefits. These retired officers are:

1. Dir. Leocadio Santiago Jr.

2. Dir. George Piano

3. Supt. Claudio Gaspar Jr.

The order issued by the PNP was based on the ruling issued by the Office of the Ombudsman on May 30, 2012. The abovementioned officers were found accessories to the anomaly involving the then First Gentleman Mike Arroyo, who would also be facing graft charges before the Ombudsman.
