We condemn Israel’s ongoing airstrikes against the Palestinian people in Gaza. These have caused death among children and civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza. The Israeli government is committing crimes against humanity and is violating the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

We condemn Israel’s continuing occupation of Gaza and we support the right of the Palestinian people to struggle for self-determination. We condemn Israel’s use of excessive force to maintain its occupation of Gaza. These airstrikes are especially treacherous, coming at the heels of a ceasefire that Hamas and other Palestinian groups offered and adhered to.

We condemn Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is using the attacks to drum up chauvinist sentiments and mobilize support for his reelection bid. We despise the Israeli government’s attempt to block information coming from Gaza in order to conceal the effects of its murderous attacks. We condemn its campaign to crush the fighting will of the Palestinian people who are struggling for independence.

We condemn the US for supporting Israel’s occupation of Gaza and the airstrikes against the Palestinian people. The fact that the attacks were launched a few days after Barack Obama was reelected further highlights the fact that he is, contrary to the illusions he is peddling, no different from George W. Bush and previous US presidents who advance US imperialism’s interests in the world.

The plight of the Palestinian people underscores the deadly consequences of US imperialism’s dominance over the Middle East and the world and its divide-and-rule strategy in the region. They have suffered immensely because of US imperialism’s alliance with the Israeli government against many countries in Middle East and North Africa and against movements for national liberation. The Israeli government has become a military power and enjoys impunity for its crimes in the region because of the support of US imperialists.

We call on the workers and peoples of Palestine, Israel and all neighboring countries to support the struggle of the Palestinian people against the US-backed Israeli occupation and for self-determination. Let us all unite and rise up against US imperialism – the enemy of the workers and peoples of the world.

There will be no genuine and lasting freedom and peace in the world as long as imperialism is not brought down by the workers and peoples of the world.
