MANILA, Philippines – Actress Maja Salvador lately confirms reports on her breakup with boyfriend Mateo Guidicelli. The actress however clarifies that her splitup does not mean the end of their bond as friends.

Maja ended up all speculations as she uttered the reason behind their breakup with Mateo on the August 3 episode of Kris TV show at ABS-CBN.

Maja also made it clear that there is no third party involved on their breakup and explained that she and Mateo just came up with a mutual decision and deemed their relationship quits for now.

Maja and Mateo have been in a relationship for quite a long time now despite all odds that they have been through in the industry. If recalled, Mateo was involved in a controversial “fistfight” scene with co-actor Coco Martin over Maja in the  middle of Star Magic Ball event last year. That issue was settled and it turned out that Mateo and Maja were still on.

But  just like the other showbiz couples, Maja and Mateo end up in separate ways. The good thing though is that they are still friends.

“Sobrang magkaibigan kami. Kasi wala namang third party, parang nag-decide lang kami na i-end muna ang relationship kasi may priorities kaming dapat unahin like siya yung career niya at pagiging triathlete niya siyempre yung oras mo sobrang mahahati sa lahat tapos ako din naman sa trabaho, yung taping namin so minsan mahirap yung hindi laging nagkikita hindi mabalance yung oras sa isa’t isa,” according to Maja in her statement regarding their breakup.

The actress already refused to discuss further details about the matter yet given Maja’s confirmation clearly denotes she and Mateo are now both single. This then marks the end of all prior speculations between her and Mateo.
