Six areas in Northern Luzon have been placed under storm signal number 2 Wednesday afternoon as Bagyong Dindo nears, while 8 other provinces were placed under signal number 1. According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Bagyong Dindo was last seen 430 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora bringing along maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 90 kilometers per hour.
Areas placed under Storm Signal Number 2 are:
- Cagayan (including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands)
- Isabela
- Batanes group of islands
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
While the following are placed under Storm Signal Number 1:
- Ilocos Norte
- Abra
- Ilocos Sur
- Aurora
- Ifugao
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- Benguet
If Bagyong Dindo continues to move in West, Northwest direction at 19 kilometers per hour, it is forecast to be 190 kilometers East, Northeast of Tuguegarao City on Thursday afternoon. But only until the storm has passed can PAGASA lower the storm signals in areas mentioned above to make sure people are alert and vigilant.
