In a match widely dominated by Vietnam, the only hope any Azkal fans can wish for is for the luck to intervene in the later minutes of the game. Azkals’ forward, Chieffy Caligdong, skillfully netted the ball in the 85th minute of the regulation time shocking the dominant Vietnam in a do-or-die match played in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday, November 27th.

The hopes of overconfident Vietnam team fell 5 minutes before the end of the regulation as Philippine Azkals executed a perfect attack led by Guirado. Caligdong was in the perfect place at the perfect time with a perfect skill to finish their attack with a goal.

The victory will bring Azkals into the semi-final round where they will be facing even stronger opponents than Vietnam.
