WATERFRONT HOTEL, Cebu City – Rocky Fuentes proved himself worthy to be called a ‘Champion’ in front of the Filipino people who are watching his every move and every punch that rocked Thai challenger, Inthanon Sithchamuang.
This is the first time Rocky Fuentes defended his title in the country after three consecutive successful defenses in the US. That is why, he has a lot to show to the Cebuanos watching him bring the Thai down in the 2nd round of their match.
The Japanese referee did not finish the count after the Thai was knocked down as it was obvious he was out of his senses after a devastating left hook to the face.
Sithchamuang (9-4-0, 4KO) fought a very close fight with Fuentes that he was able to hurt the pinoy boxer in the left. However, out of the blue the fight was stopped in 2:19 of the second round when a left hook to face surprised him and knocked him down hard to the canvass. It could have been a very entertaining fight should it lasted even for 5 rounds.
Fuentes’ now a record of 28 wins, 6 losses, and 2 draws with 18 Kos.
