Globe Tattoo Broadband is now becoming a prominent choice of Internet service in the Philippines with approximately over 25 million globe subscribers. And I am one of them.
What Makes Me Pick Globe Tattoo over other Network ISPs?
I decided to pick Globe Tattoo (Prepaid) as my internet provider rather than the other networks because Globe has the highest level of signal strength offered in our place. In fact, I am receiving a 3G/HSDPA signal from Globe. And for that I expect much from Globe Tattoo broadband. However, as I continue to use the service, I unexpectedly encounter not just one but several network glitches and problems occurring from time to time as I browse the web. This is the rationale behind my testimony.
Review Objectives
The purpose of this review article is NOT meant to affront the ISP (Globe Tattoo Broadband) but rather to let the company become aware of the on-going problems that they need to resolve for the benefit of its every subscriber, nationwide. Likewise, this review is also my way of providing readers, especially Globe tattoo users with subjective information about the actual performance, the benefits it offers to all users, along with the limitations and glitches Globe Tattoo has, unfortunately.
Globe Tattoo Broadband – The Good
Physical Scheme. From its physical scheme, Globe Tattoo is the most elegant. Nevertheless, the other entrants also are well-schemed, particularly the newly-released models.
Application Interface. Globe Broadband is designed in a manner that is very user friendly. Every menu item present in the program interface can easily be understood and utilized by all types of users.
More Unlimited Internet Surfing Offers. Considering that we are experiencing economic crisis in the Philippines, Globe created promos and offers that would make Internet more affordable to users. Evident of this is their unlimited surfing options in different monetary ranges. Available unlimited offers I mostly use are the SUPERSURF50 for 24-hour unlimited Internet browsing and the SUPERSURF220 for 5 days unlimited Internet. This is really helping me, especially for my online job. It saves me a lot of money.
Highest Signal Strength. I understand that the signal strength offers of this kind of ISPs vary in different places. This means that the signal you will get from Globe depends on your location or your distance from its BTS/tower. In our area, it is only Globe network that offers the highest signal strength, and offering 3G/HSDPA. Given with this signal strength, I should be able to acquire fast web-browsing and/or downloading.
Globe Tattoo Broadband – The Bad
Intermittent Connection. I am aware about the different factors that could affect wireless Internet connections but it is just so annoying to experience intermittent issue most of the time. My projects will be delayed, my clients will become upset, and the more I lost my credibility as their employee. And worse, I lost a deal because of this network issue. Basing to my experiences, I lost connection about 6-7 times a day and each would reach up to an hour.
High Signal Strength But Cannot Connect. This is the most typical problem I have with Globe Tattoo from the first day I used it until now. It makes me upset, especially that I am on a prepaid plan and even though I subscribed for SUPERSURF, the fact is still I am paying for every second of the connection I used. And it continues to roll even if I am not having any connection. Remember, one day SUPERSURF is good for one day Internet browsing and that costs me Php50.00 (the least), regardless of whether I am connected or not. Same thing if I subscribe to other SUPERSURF amount ranges. Although, I can choose to use the Internet for a regular rate but that would cost me even more. I don’t have any option but to wait until connection restores for me to continue surfing.
Limited SUPERSURF. This is indeed very contrary to the advertisements regarding the SUPERSURF offers of Globe Tattoo, wherein subscribed users are supposedly entitled to avail unlimited Internet surfing. This too is what I thought at first but I discovered one time that SUPERSURF is limited only to 800MB of data download per 24 hours. This means that if you exceeded the 800MB download limit, your SUPERSURF subscription will temporarily be deactivated in one day and will resume the following day. In short, you cannot connect to the Internet. But you can connect to the Internet if you would UNSUBSCRIBE to SUPERSURF and pay Php5/15 minutes. It means that the remaining days of your supersurf subscription will become void and you have to re-register to the said promo to use it.
Technical Support. While not all technical support representatives provide unsatisfactory service, there are still some or few numbers who are giving poor service to subscribers who are calling for assistance. This is of course, based on the times I have called for assistance in every time I experienced unacceptable network down times and connection issues. Perhaps, Globe will take necessary action on this matter too because it is the technical support who are supposed to offer smooth and definite resolution to any problems encountered by any of their subscribers, whether it is prepaid or postpaid.
Recommendation
If you are an extensive internet user and are downloading big files every now and then, Globe Tattoo may not be a perfect choice for you because every now and then your connection will be cut off. If you are halfway through downloading a file, you have to re-download it your connection is lost.
Almost all of the reviews pertaining to Globe tattoo would say that intermittent connection is the most common issue; that’s just true based on my experience. If you have other options rather than having a tattoo for your connection, why not try other ISPs?
Again, these notes are purely subjective and are only emphasized as honest reviews on the performance and service Globe Tattoo Broadband offers to its users. To the
