Good news to all Siatanon’s out there! A new FM station has once again emerged in our very own town—Siaton.
The P6 million project, Siaton Terminal Complex, started its operation on June 11 this year, making the life of the travelers who are passing by the town easier than before.
The Mayor of Siaton, Vincent Arbolado, said that the fund used for the project was loaned from the Development Bank of the Philippines supported by the funding from Governor Emilio Macias, II and Pryde Henry Teves, congressman of the 3rd District.
Siaton, Negros Oriental—Ceres Liner, owned by Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) is untiringly providing the people of Siaton the best travel experience which other buses cannot offer. For more than twenty years, VTI is undisputed when it comes to accommodating the needs of travelers all over Negros Province. At first thought, I never had a feeling to be a blogger. I just wanted to build a website for Siaton because I was so frustrated that there wasn’t enough information about the place when I was surfing the net. I am not even from Siaton! Why would I care blog for it?
And then it just crossed to my mind; Why not?
So, we converted mysiaton.com, which was an HTML website, into a blog with the help of WordPress™ platform because it was easier for me to add updates as well as pictures.
The fact that more and more students are pursuing their high school years in Siaton National High School, the institution is finding it harder to accommodate all of them. In order for this issue to be resolved, the Department of Education (DepEd), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Siaton implements a new educational system. This system is only applicable to high school students who wish to pursue their secondary education in a public institution.
If you’re living in Negros Oriental you know that almost all of the land owners from every city or town prefer to convert their lands into sugar cane plantation. It is because sugar cane business has been proven to bring wealth to all “hacienderos”. In fact, if you travel from Bayawan City to Canlaon City you can see sugar cane plantation on every side of the road.
It was almost 7 o’clock in the morning in Siaton when I took a little drive with my motorcycle to breathe the fresh air still filled with morning dew. I noticed that the streets of Siaton was becoming more populated which is unusual since it was still very early and the sun was just about to show its first ray.
Siaton is not a highly-urbanized municipality even if it is in the middle of two progressive cities; Bayawan and Dumaguete City. And so, cable internet is nowhere to be found in Siaton. In fact, there are only four internet cafes inside the town which use SmartBro as their ISP. And to tell you, the connection is really slow, maybe because there are so many computers sharing with almost 1 mbps download speed. So, if ever you are in Siaton, try to look for the cafe with few computers to be able to experience, at least, a little faster connection. As for me, I prefer to log in LAM Internet cafe along the national highway because it only has three computers and only two are functioning so well.

The people of Siaton, locally known as Siatanons, are so excited to treat their families and friends to the most awaited event of the year–the Grand Opening of Robinson’s Place in Dumaguete City. And since Siaton is just 50 kilometers away from Dumaguete, going there is never a problem.
